Best GST Analysis APIs in India (2026): 7 Options for Lenders Compared

Best GST Analysis APIs in India (2026): 7 Options for Lenders Compared

For lenders who need GST data verified and reconciled against bank statements in a single API workflow, Precisa is the strongest fit. Perfios suits large banks that want one enterprise vendor across many document types. ScoreMe suits corporate lenders by consolidating many GSTINs under one PAN. Lighter APIs such as Surepass and Signzy work well when you only need GSTIN verification and filing-status checks.

Why GST data now sits at the centre of MSME credit appraisal

For most MSME borrowers, GST returns are the most recent, most frequent and hardest-to-fake record of business activity available to a lender. Audited financials arrive once a year. GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B arrive monthly or quarterly, straight from a government system.

That is why cash flow based lending in India increasingly starts with GST data, and the need is large. Deloitte’s State of Financial Services in India 2026 report found that only about 14% of MSMEs access formal credit. The RBI has pointed to the Account Aggregator framework, and GSTN’s inclusion in it, as one way to streamline financial data access for MSME lending (RBI Deputy Governor Swaminathan J, via BIS). In November 2022, the RBI formally added GSTN as a Financial Information Provider under that framework, with GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B treated as financial information.

A good GST analysis API turns those filings into underwriting signals your credit team can act on:

  • Turnover: actual turnover versus the turnover the borrower claims
  • Filing discipline: how consistently and how late returns are filed
  • Input tax credit (ITC): utilisation patterns and mismatches
  • Counterparties: customer and supplier concentration
  • Fraud signals: circular or cyclic trading

What is an API in GST? (Two layers most buyers confuse)

“GST API” means two different things, and mixing them up is the most common evaluation mistake.

1. Access layer

These are the APIs that GSTN exposes through licensed GST Suvidha Providers (GSPs), and now also through Account Aggregators. They move raw return data from the GST system to you, with the taxpayer’s OTP-based consent.

2. Analysis layer

These are the products that take that raw data and turn it into credit insight: compliance scores, anomaly flags, turnover trends and reconciliation reports.

A pure GSP connection gives your team data. A GST analysis API gives your team a decision. Every tool below operates at the analysis layer, though they differ a lot in how deep that analysis goes.

    How we evaluated these APIs

We compared each product on seven criteria that matter in a lender’s credit appraisal process:

    1. Data sources: GSP fetch, Account Aggregator, PDF/JSON upload
    2. Returns covered: GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2A/2B, GSTR-9
    3. Fraud detection: circular transactions, ITC anomalies, shell GSTINs
    4. Bank statement cross-analysis: does GST turnover get reconciled against actual bank credits?
    5. Compliance scoring: a single, explainable filing-behaviour score
    6. Integration: REST APIs, LOS/LMS fit, webhooks, a usable web app for non-technical teams
    7. Scope: a focused analytics layer versus a broad platform

One governance check belongs alongside these criteria. RBI’s digital lending framework describes a lending service provider as an agent of the regulated lender, and its functions can include underwriting support (see summaries by Trilegal and KPMG in India). If a GST analytics vendor supports your credit decisions, confirm with your compliance team whether that arrangement brings it within the definition and what outsourcing obligations follow.

The 7 best GST analysis APIs in India

    1. Precisa GSTR Analysis API

Best for: NBFCs, banks, DSAs and CA firms that want GST and bank statement analysis reconciled in one workflow.

Precisa’s GSTR Analyser runs a complete pipeline:

    • Verification: checks GSTIN status in real time
    • Data fetch: pulls up to 24 months of GSTR-1, GSTR-2A/2B and GSTR-3B data from the GSTN server via a GSP connector or Account Aggregator, or accepts uploaded returns
    • Scoring: generates a proprietary GST compliance rating from 0 to 100
    • Fraud checks: detects cyclic transactions
    • Counterparties: reconciles customer and supplier data

Its main differentiator is cross-analysis. When bank statements are available for the same borrower, Precisa matches declared GST sales against actual bank inflows month by month. It also rolls both into the Precisa Score, an overall creditworthiness rating. A borrower can inflate GST turnover or dress up a bank statement, but faking both consistently is much harder.

Integration uses REST APIs into LOS and LMS platforms, with webhook support and a white-label option. Teams that aren’t API-ready can use the same analysis through a standalone web app and export to Excel. Precisa also supports 850+ banks for statement analysis and serves 1,000+ clients.

Consider alternatives if: you want a single vendor for KYC, video onboarding and insurance claims as well as document analysis. Precisa is deliberately a financial analytics layer, not an end-to-end platform.

    2. Perfios GST Analyser

Best for: large banks standardising on one enterprise vendor.

Perfios GST Analyser retrieves GST data from GSTN with customer consent. It provides monthly turnover assessment from GSTR-1, related-party transaction detection and fraud checks. It sits inside the wider Perfios Analyse suite alongside bank statement, ITR, payslip and financial statement analysers. Perfios also offers a separate GST verification API.

Its strength is breadth and enterprise track record. The trade-off is integration weight: Perfios offers hundreds of APIs and products, so smaller NBFCs may find it more platform than they need.

    3. ScoreMe GSTR Analyzer

Best for: corporate and multi-branch borrowers.

ScoreMe fetches data from the GSTN server and can consolidate every GSTIN linked to a single PAN into one entity-level report. That is useful when a borrower files from several states.

It forms part of ScoreMe’s broader digital lending platform, which also includes ITR/26AS, MCA and bureau analysis.

    4. Pro Analyser GST Analysis API

Best for: teams that want wide return coverage, including the annual return.

Pro Analyser’s API covers GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B and GSTR-9. It flags ITC mismatches, cyclic transactions, filing timeliness and turnover swings, and returns results in JSON or XML behind OTP-based taxpayer consent.

    5. AuthBridge GST Analyser API

Best for: organisations already using AuthBridge for background and business verification.

AuthBridge’s API verifies GSTINs, analyses filing status and flags anomalies for SME credit risk assessment. It is often chosen by teams consolidating verification vendors.

    6. Signzy GST APIs

Best for: onboarding and KYB-first use cases.

Signzy offers GST verification, return fetch and PAN-to-GST search, plus GST analytics through its Account Aggregator API. Its GST and ITR fetch APIs are also listed on HDFC Bank’s developer portal, which shows how widely it is used for onboarding checks.

    7. Surepass GST Analysis API

Best for: quick filing-behaviour checks, including vendor risk assessment.

Surepass provides a marketplace-style API that checks whether a business files regularly and summarises turnover. It suits fast compliance screening more than deep underwriting.

Which GST analysis API should you choose?

For most NBFCs, banks and DSAs underwriting MSME loans, Precisa is the GST analysis API to choose. It is built to answer the one question a GST return cannot answer on its own: did the declared business actually happen? Verifying a GSTIN or summarising filing history only tells a lender that a return was filed. Precisa’s GSTR analysis goes further, reconciling declared turnover against the borrower’s real bank inflows, month by month, in the same workflow.

Three things set Precisa apart for lending:

    • GST and bank data are read together, not in separate tools. The same platform that fetches 24 months of GST returns from GSTN also runs bank statement analysis across 850+ banks. The cross-check happens inside the API instead of on an underwriter’s spreadsheet.
    • The output is one explainable decision. The 0–100 GST compliance rating and the cross-analysis both feed the Precisa Score, which a credit committee can review without reconciling three separate reports.
    • It fits lenders at every stage of maturity. Teams can start with the web app on day one, then move to the REST API with webhooks when they’re ready to embed it in their LOS.

Precisa’s guide to GST reconciliation built for credit decisions rather than return filing explains why this is different from the ITC-matching tools most finance teams already use.

The other six APIs are the right choice when the question is narrower:

    • Quick GSTIN checks: if you only need to confirm a GSTIN is real and filing, Surepass, Signzy or AuthBridge will do the job.
    • Multi-state groups: if your borrowers file from many states and PAN-level consolidation is the priority, ScoreMe is built for that.
    • Single enterprise vendor: if your institution wants one vendor across KYC, onboarding and every document type, Perfios fits that procurement model.

For the core job of MSME underwriting, which is confirming that declared GST turnover is backed by real money before disbursal, Precisa is the stronger choice.

    Frequently asked questions

    1. What is a GST analysis API?

A GST analysis API fetches a business’s GST returns from GSTN, with the taxpayer’s consent, and converts them into credit signals. These include turnover trends, filing compliance, ITC patterns and fraud flags.

    2. What is the difference between a GSP API and a GST analysis API?

A GSP (GST Suvidha Provider) API gives authorised access to raw GST data. A GST analysis API sits on top of that access and interprets the data for decisions such as lending.

    3. Can lenders fetch GST data through Account Aggregator?

Yes. GSTN participates in the Account Aggregator framework as a Financial Information Provider, and GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B can be shared with a single consent.

    4. Which GST returns matter most for credit appraisal?

GSTR-1 shows outward sales and customers. GSTR-3B shows tax actually paid. GSTR-2A/2B shows purchases and ITC. GSTR-9 is the annual reconciliation.

    5. Why cross-verify GST data with bank statements?

Because a borrower can inflate declared turnover. When GST sales and bank credits diverge sharply, that gap is one of the clearest fraud or income-manipulation signals available before disbursal.

Live vs Closed Loans: What a Credit Bureau Report Shows

September 28, 2026 Soma Sharma No comments yet

Most credit assessments start the same way: the bureau report comes in, someone scans the total loan count, and that number anchors the initial read. A borrower with 60 accounts on file gets a different reception than one with 10. What the aggregate count doesn’t surface is whether those loans are active today or repaid […]

Why NBFC Loan Processing Still Relies on Manual Work

September 25, 2026 Soma Sharma No comments yet

Most loan officers at NBFCs will tell you the same thing: the credit decision is the easy part. Everything before it is where time disappears. Bank statement downloads, GSTR cross-checks, credit bureau pulls from sources that were never designed to talk to each other: all of it lands on someone’s desk, and most of it […]

How to Build a Faster Credit Appraisal Memorandum with Bank Statement Data

September 23, 2026 Soma Sharma No comments yet

A credit appraisal memorandum pulls together everything the sanctioning committee needs to make a lending decision. Most of the financial evidence in that document comes from the borrower’s bank statements. For teams processing more than a handful of applications a week, manually extracting transaction-level data from PDF statements, categorising entries, and computing the required ratios […]
