Bank Statement Analysis Simplified with Added Categories for Inflow and Outflow

October 13, 2021 Precisa Team No comments yet
Bank-Statement-Analysis-Simplified-with-Added-categories

Manually assessing data from the Bank Statement PDFs is a strenuous and time-consuming process. Automated Bank Statement Analysis tools on  Precisa allow its users to extract the data and categorise them and facilitate more detailed segregation from the bank statements.

Why Do We Need a Category View?

Different public and private banks have various formats and do not have specific standards for abbreviations or narrations of the transaction history. Therefore, it can be challenging to interpret these layouts and categorize the transactions.

However, the transaction data is key to bank statement analysis. It can give insight into the customer’s spending patterns and risk factors about sanctioning a loan. Unfortunately, manually assessing these transactions and structuring data from unstructured text is challenging and time-consuming and often prone to errors.

Category View for Inflow and Outflow on Precisa

5 Reasons Lenders Switch Their Bank Statement Analysis Tool

May 25, 2026 Precisa Team No comments yet

Switching a bank statement analyser mid-operation isn’t something a credit team does on a whim. There’s data migration to worry about, workflow retraining, integration work, and (if the tool touches a loan origination system) a whole IT conversation that nobody particularly enjoys. So when a team does decide to switch, there’s usually a specific reason. […]

How Forensic Auditors Use FIFO Analysis to Detect Financial Statement Fraud

May 9, 2026 Precisa Team No comments yet

The Reserve Bank of India’s Annual Report for 2024-25 recorded banking fraud at ₹36,014 crore, a near-tripling from the ₹12,230 crore reported the previous year. Over 92% of that value was tied to the loan portfolio. A significant portion involves financial statement fraud: borrowers inflate revenues, suppress liabilities, or misrepresent cash flows to secure credit. […]
